May the ‘Fourth’ 2022 was the day for celebrating our colleagues at our Annual Colleague Recognition Awards. A total of 31 finalists joined the event which was hosted virtually in order that colleagues from right across the UK and Ireland could attend.

We value our colleagues and recognise that it is important to show our appreciation for the exceptional work that is undertaken by individuals and teams across our business.

Once of the ways in which we do this is by holding our annual awards to celebrate the achievements of our colleagues. The awards are based on our 5 core values: Aspirational, Service Excellence, Safe, Ethical and Talented Teams, plus five additional special categories for: Rising Star, Hidden Gem, Ray of Sunshine and Customer Choice.

Nominations are made by colleagues and clients, giving them the opportunity to put forward individuals or teams in recognition for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

Prior to the event, each finalist received a ‘celebration in a box’ containing everything they might need to celebrate in style! The winner of each category was revealed live online, which made for a truly exciting occasion.

Lois Heywood, CEO said “I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to nominate a colleague or team for an award, as without your contribution the judging panel and wider organisation would never have seen the many examples of incredible work from our colleagues and had the opportunity to celebrate them.

This year, the Asset Excellence programme received nominations for 168 individuals and team members, which demonstrates the excellent work and the contribution they have made to our organisation’s success over the last twelve months.

A huge well done to everyone who has been nominated, the judging panel for their hard work in trying to find a winner from the high quality of nominations, and of course to all of the winners and finalists.

It was a truly amazing day, showcasing exceptional colleagues, including individuals and teams working right across our business.”

A special celebration was held for Mike Golden, Senior Operations Manager from the B&Q Supply Chain team who has dedicated much of his working life to building and developing the workstream. The celebration comes as Mike retires this year after a phenomenal 22 years of service.
