Real-Time Stock Visibility Across the Bridal Supply Chain

Background

This RFID retail stock accuracy case study explores how WED2B achieved real-time visibility and improved inventory accuracy across 27 stores. WED2B is the UK’s largest and fastest-growing bridal retailer, offering hundreds of UK-designed wedding and bridesmaid dresses across five unique collections. With 27 stores nationwide and new styles arriving weekly, they’ve brought fast fashion to the bridal industry; combining exceptional value, stylish design, and a seamless in-store experience for every bride.

The Challenge

WED2B’s lean, off-the-peg model meant stock accuracy was critical. Frequent inter-store transfers and rapid sell-through rates caused stock accuracy to drop below 70% soon after each count.
When consolidating stock to open new stores, only 70% of items were accounted for; creating extra cost, inefficiency, and the risk of disappointed brides.

The Solution

To achieve full visibility from source to store, Head of Supply Chain, Chris Everest, partnered with RAS to implement an end-to-end RFID solution. A flagship trial proved its impact:

  • +25% improvement in inventory accuracy
  • 96% reduction in count time
  • 20% reduction in stockholding

The rollout included RFID tagging and labelling, handheld readers, dashboard reporting, and ongoing RAS support; all integrated seamlessly with WED2B’s ERP and POS systems.
