Movember has been a busy month at RAS, with all sorts of activities from early morning walks, directors’ counts, a bake sale, bingo, football cards and much more.

Led by our own Mo Bro Chris Hackett, the Mo Team at RAS have really got stuck in to all the activities to raise much need funds and awareness for the cause, with a whopping £700 raised to date and counting.

When addressing the team, Chris commented “Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there”

The Movember Foundation charity raises awareness and vital funds for the biggest issues in men’s health: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.

Every year 10,000 men die of prostate cancer – one an hour – and suicide is the biggest cause of death in men under 50.

A big thank you to everyone who got involved! Anyone still wishing to donate, please visit Chris’s fundraising page
